Purpose:
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Rate Analysis Department is offering online cost report training as an alternative to on-site classroom-based cost report training sessions for preparers of 2007 cost reports. Eligibility for online training for a specific program is limited to preparers who have previously attended a classroom-based cost report training session for that specific program and received a completion certificate. Preparers who are eligible for online training for a specific program do not have the option of attending on-site classroom-based training for that program. Conversely, preparers who have never attended an on-site classroom-based cost report training session for a specific program do not have the option of participating in online training for that specific program; these first time preparers must attend an on-site classroom-based program specific training session.
The General Course is a Prerequisite For ALL other courses
Successful completion of the General course is a prerequisite for any Program-Specific course. Regardless of your purchase, you will not be able to open/start a Program Specific course UNTIL you complete the General Online Cost Report Training course. There is no fee for the General course, it is included in each of the "combination" course packages.
Training Safeguards
The course cannot be taken by someone else other than the cost report preparer. A preparer’s personal information may be gathered by the Rate Analysis Department in order to verify the identity of the person participating in online training.
First-time preparers qualifying to attend on-site classroom-based cost report training sessions must register for and attend on-site classroom-based training session in Austin. Information related to on-site classroom-based cost report training sessions can be found at:

Purchase an Online Cost Report Training Course from the course catalog:
EVERY USER must have an individual Online Learning Account. That means - regardless of which credit card you use, you must have your own, unique Online Learning Account to complete your courses. Each user must complete the check out process individually.
